Many European cities can offer visitors an impressive collection of historic architecture and Granada, with the Alhambra, the cathedral, the Cartuja Monastery and dozens of other historic churches and secular buildings, certainly heads the list in this respect.

But Granada offers something intangible which goes beyond old stones. The Granadinos are intent upon having a good time, and in seeing that their guests do so, too. It's not quite clear why this is true. Perhaps it has to do with Granada's tradition as a university city. Perhaps it's due to some inherent "gracia" which Andalusians are said to be born with.
